• 200 g unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 300 g plain flour
  • 25 g corn flour
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • Decoration: chocolate icing, sugar icing, chocolate chips, etc.


1.    Preheat the oven to 180 °C/ 350 °F/ Gas 4.

2.    Measure the butter and sugar into a bowl. Whisk together using an electric hand whisk until light and fluffy, add the vanilla.

3.    Mix plain flour with corn flour. Add it to the butter and sugar mixture.

4.    Using your hands, rub the mixture together and gently knead to form a firm dough.

5.    Put the dough in the fridge for one hour.

6.    Roll out (0,3-0,5 cm) on an floured working surface and stamp out into shapes using the cutters.

7.    Place them carefully on a baking sheet with baking paper slightly apart.

8.    Bake for 8-10 minutes until very lightly golden. Leave to cool.
